Tucson to Richmond
Saguaro Lake → Blue Ridge Route
Departure night. Camp near Tonto National Forest. Salt River Paddleboard Rental Company nearby — scoping a board to take on the road.
Morning at Salt River Paddleboard — breakfast, check out rentals, mess around a couple hours. Scenic route west of highway. Roll into Albuquerque by sunset.
Scenic route north out of Albuquerque. No highway. San Juan Mountains. Camp at Platoro Reservoir. 9,600 ft elevation — check snow conditions before heading up.
REST DAY. Fish, hike, sleep. Stay at the reservoir.
Leave Platoro early. Splitting the haul to Little Rock into two days. Camp somewhere in the Texas Panhandle or just across into Oklahoma.
Short morning drive into Little Rock. Angel flies out of Little Rock Airport by noon/1pm back to Tucson. Travis continues east.
East on I-40 into Nashville. One night in Music City.
Scenic route through the Blue Ridge Mountains into Virginia. No highway — this is the payoff drive.
Final leg down from the mountains into Richmond. Arrive May 18th. Angel flies in after Oliver's exams wrap May 20th.
